The Ebola Virus first discovered in 1976 periodically spreads through parts of Africa claiming thousands of lives. With no vaccine and its high fatality rate it is one of the Worlds feared diseases.

The Virus is transmitted to humans who have been in contact with infected animals such as Fruit Bats, Pigs, Chimpanzees, Gorillas and Monkeys.

It can be transmitted at burial ceremonies where mourners come in close contact with a deceased Ebola victim.

Reducing the risk of transmission from wild animals to humans can be done through avoiding contact and consumption of infected animals "Bush Meat."
